How's your father

According to Michael Kelly, a writer and historian in New Zealand, "the origin of the expression 'how's your father' can be traced back to Victorian times. In those days any man with a daughter was so protective of her virtue that he would take extraordinary measures to safeguard it. Unmarried girls would be kept within the bosom of their family as much as possible, chaperoned on excursions, and on those occasions when they were let out of bounds for social events, their fathers would often accompany them discreetly by hiding underneath their voluminous skirts ready to pounce on any man who transgressed the bounds of propriety.

Just a quiet little birthday celebration

LottyI’m sure you’ll agree that there are milestones in life, but none quite like reaching the big three O. The newest goat to the J&G fold celebrated that milestone in style with her goats and her non goat family. So surrounded by good company, exquisite food, fine port, fine wine, smiles and laughter, the youngest little goat spent her last day of her twenties with Nick, Phil, Sandy, Angie, Blair, Scott, Cathy, John and Gina.

The rumpus room was converted beyond recognition with a tableau set for kings. Nick cooked an exquisite roast chicken and lamb on the braai, and when the candles were lit, we sat down to enjoy an unbeatable meal, and in true household style the wine and port flowed and flowed, the laughter didn't stop for an instant and wisdom abounded. The world was put to rights yet again, and most wise ones decided to jump into the icy Thames. Twice.

Lottie can definitely be sure that she kicked her twenties away with aplomb and has entered her thirties with style. The photographs are here, so have a look and have a smile as we wish Lotty a very happy birthday

Easter Weekend Camping

Camping Time!

We have booked some pitches at this campsite in norfolk, it's 10min walk to the beach and in 55 acres of woodland - so hopefully there will be lots to do!

http://www.norfolklodges.co.uk/index1.htm

If you book a site, just ask them to include it under Shane's name, hopefully we can all be in the same naughty corner!

They may also have a few decent caravans for hire at very reasonable prices.

We are going from Thursday to Tueday morning, Easter Weekend.

See you there!
